The “Friends of Abbey England” Facebook group is an unofficial interest/fan group for those who like and use Abbey’s products to produce their handcrafted leather goods.
While Abbey is aware of and encouraged to participate in the group, it is not and never was never intended to be, an official Abbey group.
Neither Abbey nor the Reverend Stevens want an official connection. And believe it would be contrary to the free discussion and relationship building with Abbey the group was founded to create.
Consequently, while Abbey can and should monitor the group to assure they are being treated fairly, they do not have any control of any kind over the group or the content posted to it.
Their participation is limited to interacting with the members, sharing info about company products, and answering questions the members ask the entire group.
The group is owned and administered by its creator, Rev. LJ Stevens; who is always has been the sole owner and administrator.
It is staffed by volunteers who are Abbey fans.
No one in the leadership team receives compensation for their participation in the group.
While everyone is welcome to join the group and participate in our discussions, the work shared MUST have used at least one Abbey product in its production.
Furthermore, that product MUST be mentioned in the body of the post. If you used more than one, you may tell us just the main product(s) used to produce the project.
Posts which do not meet this guideline will be deleted. This is necessary to ensure the group retains its focus on Abbey and their products rather than devolving into a general leatherwork group in which any and all work is shared.
Mentioning the main products by name and how they are used will also help newcomers to our craft learn more about the types of products Abbey sells and how to use them in their own work.
Proof of everything claimed above will be found in the ” The Real Story” album which will be created to disprove Mr Guest’s lies.
Since there is no malice intended toward Mr Guest – just a setting of the record straight (i.e. telling the REAL story) – furthermore, since the proof consists of screenshots which form a “date and time stamped timely kept journal” which would hold up in court as accurate evidence of who formed the group and why, plus, some of Mr Guest’s lies and my responses, sharing said proof publicly is both a necessary and perfectly legal way to counter the slanderous lies Mr Guest is spreading.
