Established in 1840, Thomas Ware and Sons Ltd remains the biggest of the traditional leather tanneries.

Best known in the shoe trade they supply:

•  Quality sole leather including all bottom stock leathers to the shoe manufacturing and repair markets:
•  Equestrian leather including bridle, stirrup, saddle and harness butts as well as saddle strap leathers:
•  Industrial leathers including industrial belting and friction leathers:
•  Quality leather goods including wallets, belts and briefcases: and
•  Speciality leathers including flooring, cricket balls and dog leads.

An on-going modernisation programme with CAD/CAM cutting machines, new splitting and buffing machines and additional spraying facilities continues to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Traditional leather skills remain core to the business success, whilst the technical developments will ensure Thomas Ware and Sons Ltd. remain successful now and in the future.

Our products are supplied to customers all over the globe, and in April 2018 they were awarded the UK’s most prestigious business accolade, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade, in recognition of Thomas Ware And Sons Ltd’s outstanding achievement.
